Beverly Hicks Burch has been writing for many years, since a high school teacher lead her into the land of where words intersect with thoughts and feelings on paper. Over the years her life has lead her down many paths and through many trials and adventures. Beverly has been told more than once she should write a book, and she is kind of doing that in a joint textile art and writing project called The BamaSteelMagnolia(TM) Diaries. The project involves the construction of a quilt in which each block represents something meaningful in her life. After making the block, Beverly writes a chapter on why that block is important to her and thus is included in the quilt. She started blogging in 2007 and one blog soon blossomed into three. Beverly has been a daughter, wife, mother, divorcee, single mother, and newlywed again at an age she would have never expected. She has also tutored, taught quilting, judge quilt shows, founded quilt guilds, served as guild President, published a guild newsletter and sat on the board of a state at large quilt organization. Through it all Beverly have managed to survive non-smoking lung cancer not just once, but twice AND battle autoimmune disorders. Additionally, Beverly has had a career in the customer service industry. Life has not been dull for Beverly...not for even a minute...
